Solar trees will be in charge of charging electric cars
An innovative solar tree project is being developed to facilitate charging of electric cars in cities, while offering benefits to pedestrians. These solar trees, created by SolarBotanic Trees, will mimic the shape of a tree and serve as charging stations.
With a height of 4.5 meters and a futuristic
design, these solar trees are aesthetically integrated into the urban
environment, being especially attractive for hotels and luxury establishments.
In addition to charging electric vehicles, they offer shade and shelter for
pedestrians.
However, it is recognised that there is still
work to be done on the charging speed of electric vehicles. Depending on the
model, it can take up to 7 hours to load a car from 20% to 80%, which limits
its usefulness in situations that require a quick charge to continue a trip.
Despite this, solar trees represent an
innovative and sustainable solution to promote the adoption of electric cars
and promote charging infrastructure in cities. Over time, improvements in
charging speed are expected, providing a more convenient experience for
electric vehicle users.
