New versions of Mac Pro and Mac Studio with their own M2 Ultra processors

Apple presented two new versions of its professional desktops at the WWDC 23 event: the Mac Pro and the Mac Studio. These models stand out for having Apple’s own new processors, the M2 Max and M2 Ultra.

The Mac Studio, the most compact model in the range, has been updated with the powerful M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips. The M2 Max delivers 25% higher graphics performance and 50% more rendering capacity, being 4 times faster than the previous Intel chip version. The M2 Ultra features 20% more powerful and 30% faster graphics, improving AI training by 40% and offering 192GB of unified memory, 50% more than before. Overall, the Mac Studio with these chips is 6 times faster than its predecessors with Intel.

The Mac Pro, considered the most powerful professional desktop computer from Apple, incorporates for the first time the company’s own chips. It uses the M2 Ultra processor, which provides 3 times faster video processing performance and features 192GB of unified memory. The new M2 Ultra chip enhances the internal Afterburner video card by a factor of 7 and offers PCIe expansion options to customize the computer with more storage, audio or video power.

The Mac Pro features outstanding connectivity, including 2 HDMI ports, 6 Thunderbolt ports and 2 Ethernet ports with speeds up to 10 Gbps.

The Mac Studio will be available from $1,999, while the Mac Pro is priced at $6,999. Both models will go on sale next week.
