AlphaCode, Google’s new AI
AlphaCode, a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) system to develop computer code created by DeepMind, achieves an average human-level performance in the resolution of programming activities, the researchers report. DeepMind (Alphabet, Google) researchers have introduced AlphaCode, an AI-based programming system that can achieve human-like performance to solve programming problems. AlphaCode performed approximately at the level of an average human programmer when evaluated in a programming contest (5,000 expert participants) and reached an overall average rating of 54.3% of the best human participants. As for the operation of this system, AlphaCode generates solutions in Python or C++ and filters the ones that are wrong. The big point in favor of this novelty is that it is able to develop millions of solutions instead of tens or hundreds as models like Codex make. After this first phase, AlphaCode retains only 1% of the programs that solve the problem. To further delimit, he groups them
